By Konami has announced a new game in the Metal Gear franchise at Gamescom. This isn’t the Metal Gear game you’re used to, but I can’t wait to play it.
Metal Gear Survive is a co-op stealth game taking place in an alternate timeline to Metal Gear Solid V. The games story takes place after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes when wormholes form in the sky and destroy Motherbase leaving destruction. The few remaining survivors need to help each other survive the harsh deserts and the new living biological threats they find themselves surrounded by.
The game will be using the same engine from Metal Gear Solid V, and will feature four player co-op as you take control of one of the surviving soldiers from Motherbase. It will take stealth and strategy to survive, but luckily new weapons will become available in order to combat the threats you will face.
A co-op stealth game with the Metal Gear mechanics sounds amazing in my opinion and I cannot wait to give this game a try. I don’t know if it’s the enemies shown in the trailer or the plot, but the game looks like it was at one point in time Resident Evil or a similar game to it.
The game is set to release on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2017.
