During their E3 Presentation Bethesda showed off their upcoming jump into VR with Doom and Fallout 4.

Starting with Doom, the game will play the same as the recent rebooted game for Doom, but this time in VR. For those unfamiliar with Doom, the game takes place in a martian research facility where you play as the last known survivor after a demonic invasion. Your goal is to stop the oncoming onslaught of demons and restore the facility to an operational state once again. The game boasts that the action will take on a new perspective in the new VR game.

“Available for PlayStation VR and VIVE platforms, this DOOM adventure will bathe you in virtual carnage. Developed by id Software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and modern VR, DOOM® VFR brings the fast-paced, brutal gameplay fans of the series love to virtual reality. Immerse yourself in the UAC facility on Mars and the depths of Hell, as your skills are put to the test through intense combat and challenging puzzle-solving. Play as a cybernetic survivor who is activated by the UAC to fight the demon invasion, maintain order, and prevent catastrophic failure at the Mars facility. Lay waste to an army of demonic foes as you explore and interact with the outlandish world of DOOM from an entirely new perspective.”

Doom VR is set to release in 2017 for Playstation VR (Playstation 4) and HTC Vive (PC).

Next Bethesda showed us Fallout 4 VR. Fallout 4 follows the adventure of the sole survivor of vault 111, after the outbreak of nuclear war. The VR game follows the same path as the original, but this time making the world more interactive than ever before.

“Fallout 4, the legendary post-apocalyptic adventure from Bethesda Game Studios and winner of more than 200 ‘Best Of’ awards, including the DICE and BAFTA Game of the Year, finally comes in its entirety to VR. Fallout 4 VR includes the complete core game with all-new combat, crafting, and building systems fully reimagined for virtual reality. The freedom of exploring the wasteland comes alive like never before.

As the sole survivor of Vault 111, you enter a world destroyed by nuclear war. Every second is a fight for survival, and every choice is yours. Only you can rebuild and determine the fate of the Wasteland. Welcome home.”

Fallout 4 VR is set to release in October 2017 for the HTC Vive (PC).
