A new trailer for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon debuted today and boy was it chocked full of info.
Today’s video contained a lot of new info, so let’s get started!

New Alolan versions of old Pokémon?!
Some old Pokémon will be getting some new looks & types in the Alola region!
Exeggcutor- Grass/Dragon type

Vulpix- Ice type

Ninetales- Ice/Fairy type

Sandshrew- Ice/Steel type

Sandslash- Ice/Steel type

New Pokémon!!
Along with revamped old Pokémon some new Pokémon were revealed as well!
First its Oricorio! Oricorio’s appearance and type will change depending on which island you encounter it on. Oricorio has the new ability called Dancer, which when another Pokémon in the field uses a dancing move, Oricorio will copy the move immediately after. Oricorio also has a new move called Revelation Dance, that changes type depending on Oricorio’s style.
Baile Style- Fire/Flying

Pom-Pom Style- Electric/Flying

Pa’u Style- Psychic/Flying

Sensu Style- Ghost/Flying

Next is Minior, the Rock/Flying, Meteor Pokemon. Minior has the new ability Shields Down, when it’s at full strength its defenses will be high, but when its HP drops to below 50%, its rock shell will break revealing its pastel core and its speed and power will both increase! Its color will be different depending on the debris that it absorbs, you won’t know the color until its ability activates.


What?! Your Yungoos is evolving! It’s Gumshoos, the evolution of Yungoos, it retains the Normal type and same abilities as Yungoos.

Fomantis and Lurantis are two new Grass type Pokémon, Fomantis evolves into Lurantis.

Lurantis can use the new move, Solar Blade, it seems to be a physical form of Solar Beam.

Mudbray is the pre-evolved form of formerly revealed Pokémon, Mudsdale! It has the same Ground type and abilities of Mudsdale.

Introducing the Island Trials Challenge!!
These trials seem to be your primary goal in Sun and Moon, replacing Pokémon Gyms. Each trial will have a Trial Captain that will see you through each trial. Trials will not be limited to Pokémon battles, but will include things like scavenger hunts and quizzes.

Captain Sophocles specializes in the Electric type

Captain Kiawe is a master of the Fire type

The end of each trial will involve battling special Pokémon known as Totem Pokémon, they are powered up versions of existing Pokémon, such as Gumshoos & Lurantis. During your battles with the Totem Pokémon your opponent can call in allies to assist in the battle.
The final trial on each island will be known at the Grand Trial this entails battling a strong trainer known as the Island Kahuna.

The first is Island Kahuna Hala, he gave you your first Pokémon. He is also the father of your rival Hau & Kahuna of Melemele Island.
New Features!
Poké Ride is a new feature revealed for Pokémon Sun and Moon, you will be able to travel on certain Pokémon throughout the game that you can rent.

Next up is the new Z-Moves, ultra powerful moves that can only be used once in a battle. You will use the new Z-Ring to equip Z-Crystals that correspond with the type of your Pokémon’s moves. If your Pokémon is holding the corresponding crystal, the two will resonate allowing you to unleash a super powerful move!

Also annouced was that Tomy will be making a real life Z-Ring, when you perform a Z-Move in Sun and Moon your Z-Ring will vibrate, light up and make sounds!
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will release on November 18, 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS and 2DS family of systems.
