Nintendo has finally unveiled its next console iteration, formerly known as the NX, the Nintendo Switch.

The Nintendo Switch is Nintendo’s next home gaming console, that will also allow you to take your gaming on the go, wherever you go. The actual Nintendo Switch is the detachable screen that can plug into the Nintendo Switch Dock or can be taken on the go with the use of the detachable Joy-Con controllers. Multiple Nintendo Switch consoles can be used for local multiplayer as well.

When plugged into the Dock, the Joy-Con controllers can be used in a multitude of ways, whether it be one controller in each hand, the controllers shared between two people, or attached the the Joy-Con grip. They can also be connected to the side for a full handheld experience.

A few games were shown off during the trailer, Legend of Zelda, a new Mario, a Mario Kart, a Splatoon game, NBA 2K17 & even Skyrim. Speaking of games, the Switch will be using a cartridge based system for games in favor of a discs. Also coming is the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, a successor to the Wii U controller that will emulate a more classic controller style.

And with what will surely be unanimously positive news for everyone, a very large list of prominent third-party studios are on board with Nintendo’s new console. Some very high quality names are included such as Bethesda, Square Enix & Take Two Interactive.

Full game demos, a list of launch window titles, as well as launch date, price and specs, will be shown and announced prior to the March launch.
