By A new trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue was shown today at the Tokyo Game Show, let’s take a look!
The new trailer showcases some beautiful cinematics interspersed with visuals from all three adventures included in the HD remaster. Also announced through the trailer was the game’s release date, which has been delayed from it’s original December 2016 projection to January 12, 2017 in Japan and January 24, 2017 in the rest of the world.
Kingdom Hearts HD: Dream Drop Distance is a remaster of the Nintendo 3DS game, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, the visuals are looking impressive on the PS4’s hardware.
Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep–A Fragmentary Passage is a new story, told from the perspective of Aqua, the heroine from Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. It takes place after Birth by Sleep and leads into the next game in the series, Kingdom Hearts 3. This game also serves as a sort of tech demo, for the engine that will be powering the future of the Kingdom Hearts series.
Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover is a completely cinematic movie, it was recap and expand on story elements from the mobile game Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ, a game set in the fabled keyblade wars, many years before the start of the original Kingdom Hearts game. Like A Fragmentary Passage, it is set to lead into Kingdom Hearts 3.
On a side note, series creator, Tetsuya Nomura. confirmed on Twitter that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue will be compatible with PlayStation 4 Pro!
