At Apple’s annual iPhone event on Wednesday September 7 we were greeting with a pleasant surprise that Mario is finally coming to the iPhone.
Shigeru Miyamoto was introduced an unveiled Super Mario Run that will release first on the iPhone in Winter 2016. Super Mario Run of course is a runner game that still has the same layout of the Super Mario Franchise we all love. Instead this time Mario runs on his own and we have to tap or hold the touch screen in order for Mario to jump over obstacles. Shigeru Miyamoto stated that the game is made to be played with one hand since the controls are very simple. The game will have a “Free” version however we would need to pay to unlock the full version of the game. No prices were given and Super Mario Run will release in December 2016 in over 100 different countries and in 9 languages. Super Mario Run will release also on Android at a later date
Nintendo also announced that they are still planning on releasing many of their IP’s on smartphones starting with Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem in March 2017.
