The PlayStation 4 Pro has been announced.

This past week Sony announced their upcoming addition to the PlayStation family with the PlayStation 4 Pro. The PlayStation 4 Pro holds an increase in power and performance from the PlayStation 4 that allows it to play games in 4K.

The console itself gets a new look as well, adding a third pillar to the PlayStation 4’s design to signify the added power. The PlayStation 4 Pro is still a PlayStation 4 at heart, as it will continue to use the same controller and accessories available for the PlayStation 4. All your games on the PlayStation 4 will also continue to work on the PlayStation 4 Pro, with an upscale to 4K. The console will launch with a 1TB internal HDD as well.

With the PlayStation 4 Pro the biggest addition is HDR and 4K an upscale on some currently available games. For people with a 4K or HDR television, you will be able to play some of your favorite games in glorious 4K. At this time though, it does not look like there are any games being made specifically for the PlayStation 4 Pro. This means if you don’t have a 4K television, or don’t want to upgrade, you will be able to continue playing all the upcoming PlayStation 4 games on your original console.

PlayStation 4 Pro is set to come out on November 10th 2016, costing $399.99 at launch.
