Playtonic Games have just updated their Kickstarter campaign for Yooka-Laylee with some information on their upcoming Rare-vival.
To start things off the game has been pushed back a couple of months to Q1 2017 from their original estimated October 2016 release window. This decision was made to give the game some extra polish, which I am more than happy to wait after seeing their trailer for the game they also posted.
Watching the trailer (posted above) gave me a very nostalgic trip from playing Banjo Kazooie as a kid and I cannot wait for this game. During the trailers we get to see some of the moves Yooka and Laylee will be able to use such as breathing fire. We also get a glimpse at some of the levels and bosses we will be seeing in the game once it is released. There is even a quick look at a transformation which appears to look like a flower.
From the level design, characters, and soundtrack from Grant Kirkhope it looks like the Playtonic Games team have been waiting for this since the N64 era. There is even a quick jab at the end of the trailer poking fun at themselves over Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts that shows the team still has it’s sense of humor that made Banjo Kazooie stick with people for so long.
Personally I cannot wait for this game and I know that I will be playing it the moment it releases.
More information on Yooka-Laylee can be found on their Kickstarter page here and on their official website here.
